After being laid off from my job as a B2B marketing communicator/coordinator due to a lack of work, I thought: now or never!
I’ve long dreamed of developing my skills in illustration – and finally, I took the leap.
This past fall, I took the Illustration course at Berghs, something I’ve wanted to do for years. At the same time, I studied Social Media Marketing at Medieinstitutet and Fashion Illustration at the University of Borås. It turned into an intense, creative, and incredibly fun autumn filled with learning and inspiration!
Now, I’ve started my own business – Kamlou Design.
Why take the easy road when you can dive into the challenging, yet wonderfully rewarding world of illustration and surface pattern design?
At Kamlou Design, I create illustrations and patterns inspired by nature, animals, and craftsmanship.
With my background in graphic design and marketing, I also offer consulting services in these fields.
And the name Kamlou? It’s a combination of my name, Karin, and my middle name, Marie-Louise – which also happens to be my mother’s middle name. 💛
I look forward to sharing more of my creative journey here on the blog and on social media – thank you for following along!

Check out my portfolio here! (only in swedish for the moment).
