It’s actually really fun to build a website – at least when everything is running smoothly…
As a newly started business owner, it’s important to keep costs down and wear many different hats. One day I’m an illustrator, the next I’m a bookkeeper, and somewhere in between a web designer. Luckily, I’ve gathered quite a bit of experience from different jobs over the years.
After plenty of testing and tweaking, I finally have a website that I can show off and start promoting. It’s far from perfect, but it exists, and that in itself feels like a huge milestone.
I chose to build the site in WordPress, which I think works really well. It’s user-friendly and can be customized in many ways. And there are – it feels like – a million different plugins to explore. They can really elevate a site, but it takes time to understand what’s what and how everything works together.
